Meet Our Missionaries

Lynn and I founded Strategic Action Mission Ministries (SAM Ministries), a Canadian registered charity affiliated to the FCA. We serve in both Brazil (a work started in the 70’s by Earl and Ruth Trekofski), and in Mozambique South East Africa. Lynn and I are the field team directors for Southern Africa and currently serve a team of 6 other amazing missionaries and a staff of 50 Mozambicans with a focus on our mission of “Loving God and Loving people so they have a chance to love God and love people.” Both Lynn and I are MK’s (missionary kids) who experienced a clear call on our lives many years ago to serve in missions. We moved to South Africa in 1987. God then brought relative peace to Mozambique in 1992 which enabled us to move there in 1993 and establish a ministry we never thought was possible! God blessed us with two amazing children who we homeschooled and who now are educated, married to amazing people and have given us 4 beautiful grandchildren. We continue to look for called and competent men and women of character to serve with us to reach many more lost and hurting people!

Missionary Work

Serving Field: Mozambique

Website: https://samministries.org

We believe the gospel is best understood, received, and responded to when people both hear the words of the gospel and see the works that result from lives changed by the gospel. As a result, we run a Christian school and feeding program, an orphan ministry, a Bible and Leadership training program, a couple medical clinics with a baby milk program, a literacy and agriculture program, as well as an aviation ministry that serves our other outreach efforts as well as emergencies. We are based on a 2300 acre farm in central Mozambique which provides the launch pad for the various mission ministries being carried out.

Current Projects

We have numerous current projects including 1. Constructing classrooms, teachers accommodations, a fellowship/eating hall and a playground at our school, 2. Continuing to construct accommodation facilities and a kitchen/dining facility for our multi-purpose training center, 3 Developing a new property with dorm facilities for our sponsored students and orphans who need to study away from home, 4. A couple vehilce projects for newer missionaries who need these, 5. A project to sell our Cessna 182 and purchase a newer Cessna 206 with a Jet A engine to better serve the needs of our growing operation.

How Can You Partner?

We welcome short term teams who can come and assist with construction projects, youth outreaches, vacation Bible school for our school children, etc.

We also welcome pastors with experience who can visit and share with our leaders in training during intensive training times or during seminars in their areas.

We welcome help to pray for and help sponsor any of the projects listed under our current projects.

We welcome any churches who would be willing to sponsor our Unique Christmas Gifts projects we promote each Christmas.

We welcome anyone interested in sponsoring a child or orphan to enable them to break the cycle of economic and spiritual poverty. We are looking for at least 50 new sponsors this year.

We welcome applications for new missionaries who sense a calling to missions! Currently we are specifically recruiting people who could possibly learn and fill the role of Field Team Leaders in both Mozambique and Brazil.

Vision and Future Plans

Our vision is to better equip our mission team in Mozambique and Brazil with a growing skill set, including more people (called, competent people of character), the infrastructure, the equipment and the resources to reach further and more effectively, so more of those we are called to are equipped to fulfill God’s call in their lives.

As a result, we are building a gymnasium for our school in Brazil, more infrastructure for the children in our sponsorship program in both Mozambique and Brazil, improving the living conditions for our mission team in Mozambique to enable them to better survive the harsh conditions, and recruiting and mentoring younger people who could fill the roles some of us older missionaries are currently filling.

Resources to Share with Others

We hold the copyright to the Portuguese translation of a basic Bible training program that may be of interest to others. We also have written a few manuals ourselves (very contextualized for Mozambique) relating to youth leadership and community health. We are also certainly willing to share our experience and journey with others who may just need encouragement!

Missionary Work

Serving Field: Asia

We Make Leaders! In the far corners of every ethos, people of destiny wait for a messenger of good news; “Jesus has a destiny for your life and we will help you get there.” Planting and growing churches is Christ’s key to making effective disciples. And out of local churches come creative ministries like schools, youth missions, Bible colleges, print and A/V media, music and worship, and skills training. We make leaders, and leaders build things.

Current Projects

Besides the post Covid re-launching of live Bible Colleges, youth missions, team missions, and some national churches that were forced to lock down, our immediate focus is to strengthen and train leaders in the ten nations of victoryasia to help them reach the regions beyond. Meanwhile it is our joy to help the creative team of the FCA produce media for “Going the Distance” online convention.

How Can You Partner?

The best thing is a visit: come to minister and help us build stuff, bring a team, get them hooked on missions and then send us your best. And if you can’t come just yet, connect with us on social media, especially fcaministers.com

Vision and Future Plans

We are in transition to a broader ministry influence as we turn over the day to day leadership to our kids. Our next quest is to share vision and principles of apostolic ministry with other leaders.
Our next physical project in Thailand is to acquire land and build a complex to expand our Christian school, Bible College and missions base.

Hikaw Win Humphries

Meet Our Missionary

Project L.A.M.B.S. International

Making disciples is the call and mandate of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus urged the disciples to follow Him. He laid down before us the teaching and the walk that we need to follow with Jesus as our supreme example. It is imperative for every believer and the church to know that disciples are not born but they are made. For the church to be strong in the last days, we must be about the business of equipping the saints (disciples) for the work of service.

Dr. James Humphries has been ministering for over 40 years and has experience in a variety of ministries including church planting, children’s ministry, street ministry, youth ministry, camp ministry, pastoral work and directing and teaching in schools all over the world. In addition, he has taken part in traveling and ministering in the USA, Mexico, Ukraine, Myanmar, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Thailand, India and across most of Canada. He completed his B.R.E. and his M.A. from Briercrest, and his Doctor of Ministry from Providence Theological Seminary in the spring of 1999.

In January 1996, Dr. James Humphries resigned as pastor of a local church with a vision to reach further abroad with the Word of God and to use it to train labourers for Christ (Matthew 9:36-38). He shared this with Dr. David Smith and Dr. Chuck Nichols of Providence Theological Seminary and they greatly encouraged Dr. James Humphries and his wife Irene to develop what God was laying on their hearts.

In March 1997, they traveled to Jamaica where they met several pastors who were very concerned about the need for training and disciplining their young people as leaders in their churches. Dr. James Humphries and Irene did not know this would be the starting point to an international ministry of discipleship training around the world known as Project L.A.M.B.S. International.

To date, Project L.A.M.B.S. has ministered in Canada, Myanmar, Ukraine, Africa, Jamaica, Mexico, Israel, Thailand, Japan, Dominican Republic, Naga Land, India, Viet Nam, and China. We offer over 30 different courses. Our graduates’ number over 1000, and are serving worldwide. Out of this group of graduates, we have equipped and trained directors, teachers and pastors who in turn are carrying out 2 Timothy 2:1-2 to an even larger group of people.

In 2002 it was discovered that Irene had cancer again. God gave Irene another three years and because of that she was still able to travel and teach in many different countries. Shortly after what was to be her last trip, Irene was hospitalized in February 2005. A few weeks later she went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on March 9.

My second wife Hkaw Win was raised and trained mostly in the land of Myanmar. She has earned B.th, University Degree and a Master of Divinity Degree in Myanmar. In April 2007 she finished a second Master’s Degree at Providence Theological Seminary in Christian Education. After July 1st, 2007 she headed back to Myanmar to head up the Christian Education Department for the Myitkyina Kachin Baptist Association and oversaw various ministries to 62 churches. After her four-year term was completed, she has been traveling and working as an interpreter and doing translations concerning various kinds of discipleship books and materials.

Over the last ten years we have lived in the countries of Myanmar and Thailand preparing a variety of resources in the Burmese (Myanmar) and Kachin Languages. To date we have published over 20 different kinds of books. Our goal is to equip and establish people as Disciples of Christ. Please pray for God’s leading and wisdom. Our walk with Christ has taken us down many challenging pathways but we have seen the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior in every area. His grace has been sufficient.

Joshua Bloomfield

Meet Our Missionary

Joshua & Gina Bloomfield are career missionaries with Ambassadors for Christ International since 2019. They are originally from Living Stones Church in Red Deer, AB Canada.

In April 2021 they moved from where they ministered in Atlanta, GA USA with their two children, Evangelina (8) and Lyla (6 ½), to Sydney, NSW Australia.

Josh had an Ezekiel 37:10 experience and his prayerful battle cry became, “Lord, please use my life to rally an exceedingly great army of disciple-makers that rise up globally.”

Missionary Work

Serving Field: Sydney, Australia

Website: https://mailchi.mp/033223f8fb93/bloomfield

Josh currently serves as Assistant to the Director of AFCI Australia. His immediate area of focus is to coordinate the international growth of the AFCI disciple-making movement initiative called EvangelismSHIFT within the 22 countries they operate in.

EvangelismSHIFT partners with national ministry leaders including church planters, here at home in Canada and abroad, to apply five shifts they find in the life of Christ to their own ministry approach that can further accelerate the spread of the Gospel thru their local church.

Current Projects

1) Josh personally does evangelistic discovery Bible studies with non-Christ followers face to face and online around the world.

2) Josh personally facilitates weekly/monthly zoom calls with pastors/ministry leaders and church planters in Canada, throughout the US, Japan, Romania and Sicily that:
(a) cultivate the habits of evangelism & discipleship and
(b) focuses on how to incubate that disciple making DNA in those we
lead.

How Can You Partner?

You and your leadership team can:

1) partner with us as a resource for further developing your church members to live as a witness and disciple others.
2) become a financial partner making it possible for us to mobilize even more national church members as multiplying disciple-makers that carry the Gospel further into unreached communities.
3) send your short-term mission to be trained in church planting/disciple-making and coached practical application in one of the 22 countries we operate.

Vision and Future Plans

Our vision is to accelerate the spread of the Gospel through the local church. Thru training, coaching and resourcing, our efforts are focused on assisting ministry leaders and church planters around the world to start disciple-making movements that carry the Gospel further and deeper into their unreached communities.

Practically this means developing a disciple of Jesus who CAN make another disciple of Jesus who WILL make another disciple of Jesus.

My role at Global Teen Challenge is to serve Adult & Teen Challenge leaders in Canada and around the world with staff training and personal development, strategic planning and implementing accreditation standards.

Current Projects

As Covid-19 restrictions allow, we are working to establish strategic planning and accreditation intensives in each of the seven regions served by Global Teen Challenge.

1. There is power in united prayer, and my number one request is for prayer coverage!
2. If you’re interested in serving on a short-term missions trip at a Teen Challenge centre, please connect with me and let me know your preference of country/region.

Vision and Future Plans

The mission of Global Teen Challenge is to put hope within reach of every addict. There are approximately 27 countries currently looking for new discipleship programs and we continue to seek God’s direction to expand our reach. A personal burden of mine is to see a Teen Challenge centre established in Canada’s far north.
